Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K Hamilton

Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1)Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I've heard so many good things about this book but for me it didn't live up to the hype. It was a good book but I think I'm starting to get out of the Vampire phase. This book just didn't do it for me. I'm not sure if it was the lack of romance or chemistry between the characters or what. I just would say it was okay! If you are looking for that great romance and violence vampire book this is not it! I would keep looking for something else. Don't get me wrong this wasn't a terrible book it was just not what I was wanting to read.

Something Borrowed Book Review

Something Borrowed (Darcy & Rachel, #1)Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow! I actually read a book before I watched the movie. In some ways I can relate to the friendship in this book between Darcy and Rachel. If you have ever had one of those friends that seem to be one sided and life revolves around them you will totally understand this book. I think this was a really great book about love, and friendship. It makes you think what would you do if you were in that situation? Its a tough decision to follow your heart and accept the consequences or stick to the same mundane lifestyle and live in the shadow of a friend. I hope that the movie sticks to the line of the book! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who hasn't read it!

Book Review-The Dead Lie Down by Sophie Hannah

I listened to the audio version of this and it was great. Just when you thing you know what is going on the plot changes. Ruth Busey has a secret that she is hiding and so does her boyfriend Aiden Seed. He admits to a crime that Ruth knows he didn't commit and she'll do anything that she can to prove it to him. The more she pushes the further he pulls away from her. She goes to Charlie who is police officer but Charlie doesn't know which way to go with the information. At the same time Aiden is talking to Simon who is Charlie's fiance who is also a police office. Charlie and Simon have a strange relationship that no one believes they are really getting married. As Charlie and Simon start to get scrutinized by not only the people they think are friends and family so does the departments they work for. As the story continues you start to think that you have figured out the truth behind the story but then in comes another character that starts to tell their version of the story. Just when you think the story is over there is still more and by then end it's not at all what it seemed. If I were reading this book and not listening to it I definitely would not have been able to put it down!
