Football day in America

It's Sunday also known for 16+ weeks of the year as Football day in America. I must say I LOVE Football! Right now i'm watching the Redskins vs. Vikings. So far it's a pretty good game. Unfortunately, my hubby's team isn't televised today. He likes the Steelers and since Direct Tv monopolized most of the football games with their sunday Ticket program a lot of the good games aren't on anymore. Which I feel is really unfair! Not to mention the fact that they charge $59.99 a month for 5 months just to get the Sunday ticket. Why is it that every NASCAR race is televisized but Football nope you gotta pay extra.

Now on to other subjects, as we are all well aware of the "Christmas Season" has started and so have the idiots driving on the road. Yesterday I ventured out to pick a few things and nearly got backed into twice. Why is it that people have to be so inconsiderate? Christmas is about giving and kindness but no people have to rude and pushy. Luckily, i only had to be out for a short 2 hours. I did manage to finsh shopping for a few people. As I dont have much family anymore I don't have many people that I have to buy for.

On the Christmas subject also, let me just admit how much of an doo-doo I am. I started to do a little bit of decorating and thought I plugged in something to a surge pack well let's just say that it helps if you have both prongs plugged in. The bad part is I went all around the house looking for a light bulb because I thought the bulb was blown. I even took the plug to another outlet and it worked. It wasn't until my husband checked the surge pack that he noticed the cord didn't have both prongs plugged it. (Hand hits forehead!)

Well, I hope that gave everyone your laugh for the day! Happy sunday :)

Turkey Day!

So it's that wonderful time of year where you wake up in the morning to watch the Macy's day parade, bast a turkey, watch football and take naps. This year I got to do all that and not even get out of my pajama's. Yep nobody came to visit or eat dinner except the family that lives in my house. It has been such a pleasant day. Although, my turkey never turns out as golden as they show on tv. Neither my husband nor myself have managed to get dressed today.

I have told myself every year that there is nothing that I need so bad on Black friday that I would go out with all those crazy people. This is still true this year although I have decided I will try to make a trip. Let me just say I don't understand if company's can "lower" their prices for this one day why cant they be lower all year round. It's a simple gimmack to get people all crazy and fighting.

So now on to the book reading...I actually read a good portion of "why my third husband will be a dog?" It's a very cute book and I have laughed at several times. I definitely recommend this book. When I'm finished I'll post a complete review!

In conclusion, Happy Thanksgiving I hope you had a great holiday:)

Thanksgiving and books

Well I know not many people follow my blog because I'm not on here much but I am going to try to get better with that.

A friend of mine has posted a book giveaway on her blog if anyone would like to check it out. the address is http://lvbw.blogspot.com/2010/11/2010-december-giveaway.html

So it's that time of year where everyone sits around and talks about what they are thankful for. I am the most thankful for my husband and my kids. Some may know I have 3 children their ages are 12 11 and 4. Yes I know there is a huge gap! They are the most amazing things in my life!

With the thanks being out now lets get on to the books that I'm reading! Right now I am reading Why my third husband will be a dog by Lisa Scottoline. I'm not very far into the book but it looks like it's going to be a hoot! After I read that I'm planning on reading my first Jodi Picoult book.

Lastly, for this post I hope that you all have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving and try not to go to crazy on Black Friday!!

Book Review-Fallen by Lauren Kate

Fallen (Fallen, #1) Fallen by Lauren Kate

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
It took me a long time to get through this book, not because it was bad it was just easy to put down. I think the storyline was good but it could have been condensed considerably. I think the relationship between Luce and Daniel was very confusing for awhile. There was a little bit to much description of every little thing. I did like all the characters in the story as they all really had a role.

I still find it hard to believe that Luce's parents would enroll her into a school that they never visited. I was a little bit upset that Luce didn't have much contact with her outside friend Callie except for the one phone call and letter. Certain parts of this book reminded me of other storys. The ending does leave you wondering and I will say that I will read the next one to see what happens.

For a breakout novel I believe it was pretty good and hopefully the next one gets better!!

2010 is starting off with a BANG!!

Well as the first month is almost thru, this year is already starting out with a BANG!! My family bought a puppy and to our surprise starting gaining weight rather quickly. The next thing we know some friends of ours keep mentioning that she looked like she could be pregnant. Hmmmm...she is 7 months old which means there could be a possibility. So because the guy we bought her from doesn't like to return phone calls we have to take her to the vet and get her checked out along with getting re-vaccinated. Then the vet informs us that she most certainly is pregnant but that it is not in the best interest of the dog or the puppies for her to continue the pregnancy. So we set up the appointment to get her spayed and she came through just fine.

Now onto the next dilemma, our freezer went out the day before Thanksgiving so it has taken us this long to save to buy a new one. After visiting and revisiting the same stores looking at the same damn freezers we finally bought one. 2 days later....the washer died with a load of clothes in it. So then we were on the hunt again. I wanted a front loader because if we have to buy a new one mid as well buy the one I really want. So we start at the same stores we looked for the freezer at. Well it seems to be a policy that places that sell appliances dont actually stock them. Almost everywhere we went we had to order the one I wanted and it could take anywhere from 1 week-3 weeks. Until finally we go to Lowe's and they have a floor model that they are willing to sell, we even talked them into giving a better discount because it was a floor model. So now I'm happy I have a new washer and a new freezer so I can keep my families clothes clean and their bellies full :) Let's hope that nothing else major happens because I think I've had enough for this year already!

Economy

So as everyone sits out there and complains about how bad the economy is, here I sit waiting for things to get better. My husband is currently out of work and I'm the one footing the bills. Well, this just sucks! I'm tired of paying for everything. I'm ready for him to get back to work so some of the stress on me can be relieved. I try very hard not to let it get to me but some days it's just too much. I just can't catch a break. Every time I turn around it's something else. I mean I make pretty decent money but dammit I want to spend some of MY money on what I want to get!! I sit at a boring as job all day long 45 hours a week and most of my money goes to paying the bills. Every now and then I sneak not paying something just so I can have some enjoyment.

President Obama (which yes I voted for) was suppose to make things better. He was suppose to create more jobs. Well Where in the Hell are those Jobs? Why is the economy continuing to get worse not better. The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer! Something has got to change. Although as I sit here and bitch I do recall that there were 53 jobs in the paper on sunday which is the highest it's been for awhile. But most of those jobs required some kind of training.

My husband and I own our own business. (Well he owns it but it has my name on it) It's the kind of business that doesn't get busy until about April and shuts down around October which means he needs something else for a more regular income but there just isn't anything out there. Okay I'm done now. I've had my fit and will be quite....
